You should not count on Medicare to cover Long Term Care costs and many people do not qualify for Medicaid. So it is important to explore all your Long Term Care options.
One option is to have a Short Term Home Healthcare plan. This plan will cover you in your home when you can no longer functionally care for yourself (can no longer do 2 of 6 ADLs) or you have a cognitive impairment. this plan will allow you to stay in your home to receive benefits. These plans may extend your other Long Term Care policy benefits.
In addition to our Short Term Home Healthcare plans, I recommend exploring other Long Term Care options to protect your retirement assets should the need arise for nursing home, adult day care, or assisted living. We have several plan options depending on your needs.
